Pause for Chocolate | #NaBloPoMo

A daily blogging challenge is a great idea. Here I am, about 1/3 through the month, and I can see how it has helped me. A month ago, writing felt impossible. Writing everyday? Don’t make me laugh.

But here we are, and I can see how a daily blogging practice will lead to daily writing of other kinds. I can see how I am learning to organize my time to maximize naps or the hour or so Amanda can give me in the evenings. There’s a lot of good coming out of this challenge.

But a daily blogging challenge is also hard. And tonight, I’m exhausted and my heart just isn’t in it. But I committed to meet you here, and I’m not going to bail on you.

So what I’ll say is hello. I can only stay a minute – I’m crawling into a book and a pumpkin bar for as long as my baby will stay sleeping. But before I rush off, I wanted to leave you with a throwback to a Halloween several years ago when I made Leftover Halloween Candy Brownies. I was thinking about these brownies and wishing I had some leftover Halloween candy. But even if you’re like me and you gave all your candy away, I can tell you that these customizable bars will lend themselves to wherever your sweet tooth leads you. In a world full of chaos, it’s maybe nice to know you can pick your chocolate bars.

So may your evening be peaceful and the chocolate plentiful. Onward and upward.
